’24′ the movie to start filming says Jack Bauer
24 fans can stop holding their breath. Kiefer Sutherland has confirmed the start date for the big-screen version of 24.
The 45-year-old star revealed on Sunday (January 8) at the Fox TCA panel for his new drama Touch that the film will begin shooting in late March/early April.
I was a fan of the first few seasons of 24. I wasn’t able to follow it only because of the vast number of other series I was following at the time. Sacrifices were made and Jack Bauer was put on the back burner in my TV schedule.
I have heard good and bad things about the last few 24 seasons. I still like that Jack only has 2 speeds, calmly talking or screaming in the face of some terrorist “TELL ME WHERE THE BOMB IS!”.
His new show Touch will premiere on March 19 at 9pm on Fox. A special preview of the series will air on January 25 at 9pm.
Touch looks pretty interesting. His role is different in Touch.
“I remember getting to page 35 and thinking, ‘S**t. I’m in real trouble here’,” he said. “The character is so vastly different [from 24's Jack Bauer], the tone of the piece is so vastly different. And that’s part of its appeal.
In the new series Kiefer stars as Martin Bohm – a former journalist and luggage handler whose wife was killed in the September 11 attacks.
David Mazouz plays Jacob “Jake” Bohm – an autistic and mute boy who is obsessed with numbers and can predict future events. Mazouz will also serve as the narrator of the series.
Danny Glover also appears in the series as Professor Arthur DeWitt – an expert on children who possess special gifts when it comes to numbers.
It all sounds interesting, I will be checking out Touch when it airs and as for the 24 movie…I’ll grab the DVD someday.
