The Rock will be Lobo
DC has some catching up to do. Marvel simply has the better heroes in my opinion and also has been making the better movies (Green Lantern…yikes).
I am not sure the way to do this is make a movie about a character only more serious comic book fans might have heard of. Did you know who Lobo is?
Well now you will be cause Dwayne ”The Rock” Johnson will be the lesser know “anti-hero” Lobo.
Wiki says:Lobo is a fictional character that appears in the comic books published by DC Comics. The character first appeared in Omega Men #3 (June 1983), and was created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen. An alien, Lobo works as an interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter. Introduced as a hardened, rarely used hardboiled villain in the 1980s, the character remained in limbo until his revival as an anti-hero biker in the early 1990s. The character enjoyed a short run as one of DC’s most popular characters throughout the 1990s. This version of Lobo was intended to be an over-the-top parody of Marvel Comics superhero Wolverine. (In issue #41 of Deadpool, another Marvel series, Lobo was parodied as “Dirty Wolff”, a large blue skinned man who drove a demonic motorcycle. He was also parodied in the Image Comics series Bloodwulf and as “Bolo” in the Topps Comics series Satan’s Six).
And Collider.com says:
In May, we reported that Dwayne Johnson might be in the running to star in the DC superhero movie, Lobo. The rumor began when a fan tweeted to Johnson that he’d like to see the star in the role, and Johnson responded, “Funny U say that…” Today, he has added a bit more fuel to the fire, by tweeting about the rumor he started:
“Rumors of me possibly playing LOBO are true. [Producer] Joel Silver and [director] Brad Peyton working on it now. That could be fun…”
