Dane Cook’s NBC sitcom was so bad that NBC didn’t think anyone should watch even 1 episode

Surprised? Not me. I am more surprised at how many people go to his stand up shows. He can be funny but really? stadiums?

The promo shot above does make me want to punch through my screen and not care if I cause damage to my hand. I already have  damage to my eye balls for having viewed it. I image watching the show would have been like seeing the Arc of the Covenant (see Raiders of the Lost Arc)

Apparently NBC doesn’t think he is so great. After putting out what I can only assume is a lot of money to produce 4 episodes, NBC pulled the plug without even airing one.

Gawker.com has it all:

NBC announced last Friday that it had canceled its mid season Dane Cook vehicle Next Caller before airing a single episode.

The show would have revolved around an egotistical, misogynistic radio DJ (Cook) “forced to share the microphone for a relationship call-in show” with a “perky feminist” (Collette Wolfe) who previously worked at NPR.

According to Deadline, which first reported the news, the network was unhappy with the show’s “creative direction.”

That part isn’t surprising.
